Membership & Benefits

Members of WLIB are a diverse group of lawyers, judges and law clerks, who either live, work or practice in Bergen County. The unifying factor is the recognition that the successful practice of law reaches beyond the courtroom.

Throughout the year, WLIB hosts educational lunch and dinner seminars aimed at helping attorneys to achieve their professional and personal goals. WLIB annual events include a welcome luncheon for new law clerks; a reception in honor of newly appointed female judges; Bring Your Children to Work Day at the Courthouse; and co-sponsorship of the Jean Robertson Women Lawyers Scholarship. WLIB further provides pro bono individual consultations at the Women's Rights Information Center in Englewood, NJ; evaluation of judicial candidates and guidance on a path to a career in the judiciary; support for the Child Care Center in the Bergen County Courthouse; and WLIB monitors legislative developments of particular interest to women attorneys.

Membership in WLIB has many benefits. Members receive a quarterly newsletter and invitations to all our events. Members may attend events at discounted rates. Our listserv provides a forum for our members to communicate with one another. WLIB provides an opportunity for women attorneys to become involved in our community and a network of experienced attorneys.
