Our Organization
Women Lawyers in Bergen County is governed by an Executive Board. Commitees perform the work of the organization. As with any organization, an active membership is essential to its success. Anyone who is interested in becoming an active member of WLIB should contact any of the board members. We welcome your participation.

Annual Programs |
WLIB sponsors various events including a Judicial Law Clerk Luncheon, a Judicial Reception, a Holiday Party, A Bring Your Child to Work Day, and an Annual Dinner every year. |
Bylaws |
The Committee reviews and revises the bylaws as needed. |
Continuing Legal Education |
WLIB sponsors continuing legal education programs and seminars for attorneys. |
Jean Robertson Foundation |
WLIB awards scholarships to law students. Fundraising events are held to help endow the scholarship fund. |
Judiciary |
The Committee is available for members who are interested in a career on the bench. The Committee is available to assist, in a confidential manner, to assess a potential candidacy, and to direct qualified members in navigation the appointment process. |
Legislative |
The Committee provides informative updaes on current and pending legislation of interest to WLIB members. |
Membership |
Membership Committee promotes and maintains membership in the organization. |
Newsletter Editors |
WLIB publishes a newsletter on a quarterly basis and distributes it to members and to judges in Bergen County. Anyone interested in submitting an article, book review, restaurant review, announcement, or item of interest should contact the Editors. |
Newsletter Advertising |
The Newsletter accepts advertising from the local community and public at large. Discounts are available for multiple issue commitments. |
Publicity |
Press releases and photographs of events and meetings are submitted to the media. |
Speaker's Bureau |
WLIB provides attorney speakers for various community and civic events. Anyone in need of a speaker or interested in speaking should contact the chair. |
Special Events |
WLIB is always on the lookout for new ideas for dinner meetings, luncheons and ther activities for members. WLIB co-sponsors events with other bar associations and organizations in Northern New Jersey. |
WLIB Listserv |
The Listserv provides a way for members to post messages, ask questions, and communicate with one another. It is located at groups.yahoo.com/group/wlib. Access can be gained by submitting an email address to the chair. |

The website provides information about the organization. |
Women's Rights Information Center |
Attorneys volunteer one night per month at the Women's Rights Information Center in Englewood, New Jersey to answer questions on family law, domestic violence, and divorce issues. Meetings are limited to 30 minutes. |
Women's Support Group |
The support group reaches out to women attorneys who must care for elderly or infirm relatives. It provides networking and supportive opportunities. |
